All Monster Cables are overpriced...avoid being ripped-off if at all possible. They are high quality though, so that's why they charge too much.

This cable is worth every penny. The connector is beautiful. The "M" in Monster is wonderfully printed and the finger grips feel like work of art. Other than the connector, I don't have much to say about this cable compared to other Toslink cables. The innards are really all the same. I can say that there is a marked improvement over the extended coathanger I had been using previously to connect my receiver to my audio equipment.

The product works as described by the previous reviewers. As previously stated, the picture of the item is incorrect; it is a true Toslink-to-Toslink Cable.

I'd like to take the opportunity to praise the distributor/vendor, Robert Thompson. About two weeks after I ordered the cable, I still hadn't received it. Just about the time I began thinking that it was taking a long time to receive, Mr. Thompson sent me an e-mail saying that he had sent the cable, but had not received verification from the shipping company that it had been delivered. I responded that I, in fact, had not received the cable, so he quickly sent me another one...which I did receive.

Fast forward one week later. I was moving my stereo equipment and noticed that the outer "shell" on one end of the cable was broken, requiring tape to hold it together. I contacted Mr. Thompson, and offered to send it to him to show him how it was broken. He said he did not need to see it. Instead, he offered to send me a replacement cord as long as I would cover the $5.00 shipping and handling charge. I figured that was reasonable. He even sent me the replacement cord before he had received my check for the S&H...and the cord works fine.

I give the cord a rating of 3-4 stars, as it is a little flimsy and did break. I give the vendor 5 stars for his fantastic customer service.

Be careful, ladies and gentlemen, this is not...I repeat NOT a toslink to mini-toslink cable, as the picture would lead you to believe. The ILS1002M cable is regular toslink on both ends. The description is correct, however, the picture is wrong.
