tv works great--WITH CABLE CONNECTION-- will not recieve anything more than 5 miles away on supplied ant. or even with a power boost portable ant.

was planning on using this when the power is out due to storms--not possible--FOX station in Tampa Fl. is one of the most powerful in the US and its ant. is 14.5 miles away and I can get no reception at all. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EMERGENCY USE

El equipo es bastante comodo y practico, se deberia mejorar wireless reception y agregar una una cubierta que proteja la pantalla

It works great. Rather than use the whip antenna it came with, I had an old set of "rabbit ears" sitting around the house and it works great with it. It receives all our local stations, and we're about 10-20 miles away from the station. The only thing that needs improvement is the user interface, which is a bit more primitive than you'd expect in the 21st century, and it makes it a little hard to understand what to do sometimes.

I had an old Radio Shack TV, it was a 2 1/2 inch screen and it worked pretty well before they changed to digital. I had a 24 inch Gateway monitor and it had picture in picture (pip) and after 3 years the monitor finished working. So, I got this great deal on a 27 inch LG monitor/TV. But, it had no pip. I like watching TV while I work on my computer. So, I was using the 2 1/2 inch Radio Shack TV with my cable plugged into it (via cable box), I put it on channel 3 and got all the channels through the cable. But, the screen was just too small.

I was doing some research on small TV's with a larger screen, I found the Haier and did a lot of research on it, I decided to get it brand new with free shipping on eBay for $49. I opened the box and I could see it was a high end TV. I plugged it in, screwed on the antenna and I could not believe how rich and clear the channels were just from using the antenna. I thought it was hooked to a high def cable box. Plus, it had sub stations, like channel 7 (ABC) ch7-1, ch7-2, etc; It was incredible. After I tested it with the antenna, I brought it over to my computer and screwed in my coaxial cable from the cable box (using a splitter) and put it in ch 3 and all the stations came in high def and clear, it was exactly what I was looking for. Being my cable box has RCA plugs 1 yellow (for the picture), 1 red, 1 white (for the sound), I decided to use the RCA plugs instead of a coaxial cable, then I plugged in a spare set of computer speakers in the headphone jack and I could not be happier. If I could give it 10 starts I would. Being I live in New York City, I can pick up stations minus the cable connection. Overall, it is a great set and it cost half for what I paid for my 2 and a half inch Radio Shack TV. I got lucky on the price and the free shipping and I have a warranty on top. This is a great little TV!!

Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5Average rating of 1/5 Useless electronic junk, 2010-08-15
I had been wanting to get one of these portable 7" LCD TV's for a long time. I was waiting for the price to drop, so when I saw one on sale in May (2010) for a really low price, I jumped at the offer. Turned out to be a HUGE mistake. Unfortunately, I bought it from a place (not Amazon) that does not allow returns on open merchandise. Otherwise, I would have returned it immediately even if hit with a restocking charge. So it now occupies space in a drawer, a useless piece of electronic junk.

I was really looking forward to having a small, portable battery-operated TV to take around. I live 15 miles direct from downtown Chicago. That's where all the big transmitters for the major network stations are located so I figured reception would not be a problem. Wrong. According to the website listings, I should be able to receive 20-25 broadcast channels. After the scan finished, this thing could only pick-up about FOUR channels! That was OUTSIDE with the antenna fully extended and pointing toward downtown. Only one was a major network and one was Spanish language which must have been closer. One of the recognized channels pixelated so bad it was unwatchable.

Clearly, the tuner in this thing is hopelessly weak. Totally useless.
