hard to get the best fit and thus, the best sound, 2010-08-31
These are supposed to be great earphones, and they probably are....but without a method of keeping earphones REALLY DEEP in your ear canal, you will never get the best sound possible out of them. What's left is a thin, tinny sound which lacks most, if not all, of the bass. The phones came with several different ear "cushions" or "tips" and none of them were a comfortable fit for me, and none kept the earphones deep enough in my ear to get the deep bass and full response you would want from an expensive item like this. In fact, none of them even kept the earphones in my ears without falling out! I wound up getting "Ear Putty" flexible silicone at the drug store, which I mold to "fit" as best I can. But the odd shape of these makes me think I will never find a method of keeping them deep enough in my ears to ever enjoy the full spectrum of sound available. I can tell that they do deliver good sound by pushing them in with my fingers or palms, but since I can't do that while I'm playing drums on the gig (which is why I bought them), I am resolved to just barely hearing the mix enough to play. Seems like I'll have to spend over a thousand to get real high-end, custom-molded earphones after all. *Sigh*

These sound terrific -- until they fail. See numerous other reviews here along these lines.
Within a few months of receiving these earphones, the wiring, visible beneath the clear insulation of the cords, began to turn green with oxidation or corrosion at the endpoints and near junctures. The earphones themselves sounded fine however, and I didn't mind as long as the product's performance was not affected. Fast forward to nearly two years later however, and the sound began cutting out intermittently due to a deteriorating electrical connection where the cord is soldered at a right angle to the jack. Although I can manipulate the cord to produce a connection good enough to work, the slightest motion of the cord is enough to cause it to cut out again. And it's only getting worse.
By now, the product is out of warranty. Despite there being known quality issues with these products, as evidenced in these reviews, they will just tell you, "Too bad. How about a discount on a new pair?" Well, for almost $300, there are comparable products available without this track record for poor quality and I'm not inclined to throw good money after bad and risk another such failure once the warranty expires from a company that won't stand by its products.
If you read other reviews, you'll see that even when the product is covered under warranty, folks seem to be dissatisfied with the quality of the service they received. I wasn't impressed with my interactions with their support. It was slow and took over two weeks of back and forth correspondence, and the Logitech web site for it is buggy and works poorly.
To summarize: nice while it lasts, but prone to failure. When it does fail, you will deal with poor support, but may be invited to repeat your unsatisfactory experience, albeit perhaps at a discount.

I really love these headphones. I have had them for quite a long time with no quality issues whatsoever. Does anyone know if you can purchase replacement double flange tips that come with the earphones originally? I have been unable to find those...
Love these earphones!!, 2010-08-17
These are my favorite earphones. They sound great and are very comfortable.
I had problems with my first pair, they broke when I tried to unplug the cable from the earpiece, but Ultimate Earphones replaced them immediately, no questions asked.
I prefer their sound over all the other earphones I have tried. I have also used them on stage a couple of times and they work flawlessly.
Great for amateur or pros.
Complete FAIL, 2010-05-14
Absolutely avoid these at all costs. There is nothing more frustrating than paying 200+ bucks for a pair of headphones, only to have them not hold up over time.
I have encountered the exact same thing as other reviewers - namely, the connection between the earpiece and the cable is shoddy and loses connection, causing complete loss of sound.
I am a musician and was relying on these things for my sound mix in my ears. I find myself all to often having to wiggle the wire while playing live, hoping that somehow I will find that tiny spot where the connection seems to work.
There aren't replacements readily available on UE's website. They should send all purchasers of these headphones 2-3 replacement cables.
Sound quality, decent. Product quality, terrible. Avoid.
